The remaster of Sacred 2 is due to drop very, very soon, namely on November 11th. Meanwhile, THQ has posted a devlog featuring Franz Stradal, one of the original creators of the sacred franchise, detailing the upcoming remaster as well as, apparently, the future of the series. It seems that maybe, we will even get a proper Sacred 3 sometime in the future.
For those of you who don’t know, Sacred is an isometric action RPG franchise, originally developed by Ascaron, a German game studio back in 2004. It set itself apart from other games like it, with a huge, freely explorable gameworld, an intricate leveling system based on skill gems that dropped from monsters, a bit like what Path of Exile did later, and dry, dark humor. Also, heavy metal band Blind Guardian was on the soundtrack for Sacred 2, which was awesome. Sacred 2, at the time of release in 2008 featured some of the best and most demanding graphics for a video game yet. Sacred is also known to have featured different types of mounts, from normal horses to more exotic creatures, something unique at the time for isometric action RPGs.
Check out the devlog below and stay tuned for the release of Sacred 2 Remastered in a couple of days.
