Atomfall came out in spring, this year, developed by Rebellion, whom we know from the Sniper Elite series, and combined different features from different genres into a very interesting whole. You got a post-apocalyptic setting, like in Fallout, but limited to a quarantined area, like the Zone from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. There were survival elements, with scavenging and crafting since ammo and supplies are very scarce in the game. And then there was a pretty interesting mystery going on, that players had to unravel, tying the whole package neatly together. Some people even go as far as calling this thing an Immersive Sim.
Since release, Atomfall received two major content updates, with the Wicked Isle and The Red Strain expansion packs and the Complete Edition of the game just released a couple of days ago. If this means that there won’t be any major updates to the game anymore, is still unclear, but if you want to check this thing out, head right on over to Steam.
