If you thought the first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was a wild ride, you might want to hold onto something, because the Season 2 trailer just turned the hype up to eleven. Apple TV+ is officially bringing the heavy hitters back to the small screen on February 27, 2026, and this time, the scale is absolutely massive. We aren’t just talking about a few glimpses of Godzilla in the shadows anymore; the King of the Monsters is back, and he’s bringing some serious company to the party.
The biggest bombshell from the new footage is the proper arrival of King Kong. After that tantalizing cliffhanger on Skull Island at the end of last season, we finally see the eighth wonder of the world in all his chest-pounding glory. But the trailer also introduces a terrifying new player that’s got everyone—including Monarch—shaking in their boots: Titan X. Described as a bioluminescent “living cataclysm” rising from the deep, this enigmatic new monster seems to be the main reason our heroes have to consider the unthinkable: an alliance between the world’s most famous Titans.
On the human side of things, the drama is getting just as intense. Keiko Miura, played by the brilliant Mari Yamamoto, is officially a woman out of time. After her rescue from the Axis Mundi, she’s trying to navigate a 2017 world she barely recognizes, reuniting with her grown son Hiroshi and her grandchildren, Cate and Kentaro. The legendary Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell are also back as the two versions of Lee Shaw, proving that you can’t keep a good Colonel down, even after a literal trip to the center of the Earth.
The vibe of this season feels much more like a high-stakes action-adventure than the slow-burn mystery of the first year. We’re spending way more time on the ground (and in the hollows) of Skull Island, uncovering buried secrets and visiting a mysterious new village that seems to have a very “unique” relationship with the giant monsters nearby. Apple even celebrated the upcoming premiere with a record-breaking drone show in Los Angeles, painting 500-foot versions of Godzilla and Kong in the night sky, just to remind us who really runs the planet.
With only two days to go before the first of ten episodes drops, the countdown is officially on. Whether you’re here for the family secrets or just want to see Titan X go toe-to-toe with the legends, this season is looking like a total game-changer for the Monsterverse.
