Metro 2039 Officially Announced For Later This Year

Metro fans and everybody else looking for a post-apocalyptic shooter in the veins of Fallout or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. can now officially loose their minds as Metro 2039 has officially been announced for Winter 2026. For those of you, who don’t know, Metro is a series of highly immersive and story-heavy 1st person shooter games developed by 4A Games and based on the novels by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, taking place mostly in the subway system of Moscow, where survivors of an atomic apocalypse carved out a way to survive for themselves. The series has had three games released so far, with Metro: Exodus actually leaving the Moscow metro, with main character Artyom and his friend seeking a better future on the irradiated surface. Metro 2039 actually ditches Artyom for a new main character, called “The Stranger” and seems to be way darker (if that is even possible) than previous entries. I, myself am pretty stoked for this one, and if you are interested in a “Russian Fallout” game, you should definitely keep this on your radar and wishlist it on Steam.
