Thirty years of clicking on demons—it’s a milestone that makes you realize just how many carpal tunnel surgeries Sanctuary has probably caused. To celebrate the Diablo 30th Anniversary, Blizzard dropped a massive Spotlight stream on February 11, 2026, that didn’t just look back at the past; it set the stage for a hell of a year in Diablo Immortal. Between a new class that looks like it stepped out of a gothic mosh pit and a return to one of the most iconic cities in the franchise, there’s a lot to dig into.

The Warlock is Crashing the Party
The biggest bombshell of the event was the reveal of the Warlock, a brand-new class that is essentially a middle finger to the Burning Hells. Described as a punk-rock demon commander, this version of the Warlock is a reckless user of ancient Vizjerei magic. She isn’t just killing demons; she’s putting them on a leash. She carries a demon skull in one hand and a sacrificial blade in the other, which is about as “metal” as it gets. Her primary gimmick involves opening portals to drag monsters into our world and forcing them to do her bidding. The star of her kit is the Soulgorger (or Soul Devourer), a massive, terrifying beast that eats the life force of other enemies to buff her attacks. If you’ve been looking for a summoning class that feels more “active aggression” and less “hide behind my skeletons,” the Warlock is coming to collect souls in June 2026.

Desert Heat and Demonic Queens
If you have fond (or traumatic) memories of running through the desert in Diablo II, you’re in luck. The legendary city of Lut Gholein is officially returning to the map. Once known as the Jewel of the Desert, it’s looking a little worse for wear these days because it’s currently under the thumb of Andariel, the Maiden of Anguish. The city will be divided into two main sections for us to explore, including a massive underground city buried beneath the sands. This subterranean area is apparently filled with Vizjerei runes and secrets that tie directly into the origin of the Warlock’s powers. Expect plenty of sunshine, sand, and a very angry demon queen when this region expands the world map later this year.

A Roadmap of Corruption and Consequences
Blizzard also pulled back the curtain on the 2026 Roadmap, promising a year defined by rising threats and a deeper dive into the ongoing story of Sanctuary’s corruption. We’re looking at a steady stream of new quests, including an Elite Quest specifically designed to explain where these Warlocks have been hiding all this time. Beyond the lore, there are some major “under the hood” changes coming. The developers teased a revamp of the World Tier system, better access to those elusive Legendary gems, and enhancements to Class Zone events. They even mentioned upcoming collaboration events and regional tournaments to keep the competitive scene spicy. Between the massive content drops, it’s clear they want to make sure the mobile side of the franchise stays just as relevant as its big siblings.
