SWTOR Update 7.9 Guide: Everything You Need to Know About Legacy Reborn

SWTOR Update 7.9 Guide: Everything You Need to Know About Legacy Reborn

Star Wars: The Old Republic players are eating good with the arrival of Game Update 7.9: Legacy Reborn. This massive patch serves as the grand finale to the long-running Legacy of the Sith storyline, and it is packing some seriously cool surprises. Whether you are a lore nerd or a casual player who just likes to swing a lightsaber, there is plenty here to get excited about.

The biggest draw of the update is the narrative showdown on the frozen Sith moon of Khar Shian. Darth Jadus has managed to get his hands on Darth Nul’s holocron, and he is cooking up a machine to stir up trouble across the galaxy. To make things even more chaotic, the Mandalorian Civil War is reaching its boiling point with Shae Vizla and Heta Kol racing toward the exact same icy world.

Playable Companions and Mid-Battle Swaps

Broadsword is trying something totally fresh with the gameplay in this chapter. During the final gauntlet on Khar Shian, the game will actually use polymorph technology to let you swap character perspectives mid-battle. Instead of just watching cutscenes of your allies doing cool things, you will get to step into the boots of major icons like Lana Beniko and Darth Malgus to fight through specific segments of the story. It is a fantastic change of pace that makes the narrative feel way more interactive than usual.

For the collectors out there, the developers have overhauled how missing or dead allies are handled. The old Companion Locator Terminal has been retired. Instead, all narratively unavailable companions are now safely tucked away in a brand-new Ineligible for Story tab inside your main Companions and Contacts UI. This means you can keep using your favorite friends for everyday gameplay and combat grinds without breaking the immersion of the ongoing story.

Dantooine Tweaks and PvP Season 10

If you spent any time pulling your hair out over the Wreckage on Dantooine daily zone, you will love the new quality-of-life updates. The entry requirements for leveling up the biomes have been scaled back significantly, and the tedious Orbital Core encounter has been decoupled from the main story mission. Even better, if you have already slogged through the intro on one character, your alts can now skip the intro mission entirely and jump straight into the action.

Competitive players also have a fresh grind to look forward to with the launch of PvP Season 10: Honor in Battle. This season is scheduled to run for sixteen weeks and introduces a fresh reward track loaded with goodies. Grinding out the levels will net you the new Honorbound armor sets, unique strongholds decorations, and prestigious legacy titles like Honorable by Nature.

Looking Ahead to 8.0

While 7.9 wraps up the current chapter, it also lays down the tracks for what is coming next. The developers have already started teasing Update 8.0, which will officially raise the level cap to 85 and introduce the iconic Twi’lek homeworld of Ryloth. For now, make sure to grab your favorite blaster or lightsaber, log in to experience the perspective-shifting finale of Legacy Reborn, and maybe tune into Twitch for a few hours to snag that sleek purple Nightshade Hssiss mount drop.
