Fifteen years after Queen Avyanna shattered the chains of the gods, the world of Nevendaar is not the paradise she envisioned. Instead, it is a realm rotting from within, haunted by the very power used to save it. Disciples: Domination, the newest chapter in the venerable dark fantasy strategy-RPG series, has officially been slated for release on February 12, 2026.
Developed by Artefacts Studio (the team behind The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk) and published by Kalypso Media, this sequel to Disciples: Liberation promises a more mature, politically charged journey where the weight of the throne is as dangerous as any demon’s blade.
The story follows an older, more weary Avyanna. From her seat of power in the city of Yllian, she must contend with a crumbling empire. The “fire of doubt” has begun to consume her, stoked by nightmares of becoming a tyrant. As allies desert the throne and a mysterious force spreads madness throughout the land, players are forced to navigate a web of treason, corruption, and ancient grudges.
Key Narrative Conflicts:
- The Return of the Mountain Clans: The stoic dwarves are back, but their loyalty is far from guaranteed. Players must decide whether to bring them back into the fold or extinguish their renewed fires of rebellion.
- The Rise of the Rebirth: A fanatical cult has emerged in the wake of the Highfather’s fall, threatening the stability of the Empire.
- The Weight of Choice: Unlike many RPGs, the “Grievance System” at the Throne allows you to manage the realm’s politics. Your decisions on crisis, exploration, and main quests directly impact your Faction Reputation, changing how the world reacts to your rule.
Refined Tactical Warfare
While the game retains the series’ iconic grid-based, turn-based combat, Domination introduces several “refined” systems designed to make encounters faster and more visceral.
- Dynamic Synergies: Success depends on “brutal faction synergies.” Players can recruit units from five distinct factions, mixing and matching skills to create devastating combos.
- Push & Pull Mechanics: A new tactical layer allows players to physically manipulate the battlefield—pushing enemies into hazards or pulling allies out of harm’s way.
- Companions with Purpose: Companions are no longer just extra blades in the field. They bring unique World Skills that assist in exploration and unlock secret paths or diplomatic options.
Nevendaar is a “living, dark world” explored in real-time. As you travel through regions like the industrial Wulf Coast, you will encounter characters, hidden quests, and environmental storytelling that reflect the deteriorating state of the world. The transition from exploration to combat is seamless, keeping the tension high as you uncover the conspiracies infecting your empire.
Following a successful limited-time demo in late 2025, the developers are currently polishing the experience, focusing on performance, UI clarity, and balancing the “Fog of War” mechanics.
- Release Date: February 12, 2026
- Platforms: PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, macOS), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
