Another Angle Games have just released a new trailer for their upcoming tactical CRPG Shadow of the Road. Published by Owlcat Games, the title is due out sometime this year. The trailer shows off some more gameplay footage, with a tyrannical villain spewing propaganda in the background and getting us hyped up for some excellent RPG goodness soon. We have previously covered the game in a preview, making it one of our most anticipated games of 2026.
Set in feudal Japan amidst a fierce rivalry between the Tokugawa Shogunate and the supporters of Emperor Mutsuhito, Shadow of the Road immerses players in a world that combines tradition and modernity, Japanese mythology, and steampunk technology. Leading a diverse group of adventurers through a dynamic, enchanting realm where decisions shape destiny, players must master different characters’ various abilities to turn the tides of the war. Shadow of the Road, the tactical RPG set in an alternative version of 19th-century Japan, will launch in 2026.
