Of Ash And Steel Update 1.07 Released

The ambitious and gritty CRPG Of Ash and Steel has just received a pretty massive update. The game is a must play for any fans of the old Gothic games, as it features the same no-handholding design philosophy as the those legendary games. The game received some Flak at launch, with players being in two distinct camps. Those that loved the gritty Gothic-like world and those that expected a new Witcher 3. It is great to see that developers Fire & Frost are still going strong with fixes and updates to the game. Check out some of the new features added with the patch below.

Hi everyone! Patch 1.07 is now live!

This is probably our biggest and most feature-rich patch to date. Aside from fixing various bugs — negative stats (like attack speed), crafting and inventory issues, crashes in the city, and all sorts of other annoying things — we’ve added plenty of gameplay improvements and new game content!

New Content
Hairstyles and Beards
The first content update is cosmetic. Tristan now has more hairstyle and beard options, so he can be rightfully called the dandiest man on Grayshaft! Or just terrify even seasoned hobsters with his looks — however you want to play it.

Primestriders’ Dungeon (Recommended Level: 10+)
The second free expansion is a completely new 10-level dungeon with tough battles and a unique reward for clearing it!

This dungeon was discovered in an abandoned mine near Nerest’s house. An ominous portal in the ritual halls beckons to adventurers. Prepare to fight through ten levels across three different areas with gradually increasing difficulty. Every time you enter the portal, the enemies, rewards, and chest locations change. Praise the Seven that you have a compass — it’s very easy to get lost in these intertwined tunnels.

Keep an eye on the time! If you linger longer than necessary, the enemies will grow stronger. Continue to overstay your welcome, and the dungeon guardian will appear to swiftly send you straight to The One!

The main treasure of this place is the mythical Lazar Stones, which you can find on every level. Our distant ancestors used these crystals as offerings, hoping for generous gifts in return.

If you gather enough, you can get a unique reward — the Royal Guard Armor. This armor was forged back in Grayshaft’s golden age, when the King himself favored the Fifth Island. Back then, the armor embodied honor, strength, and courage. Who knows, maybe you’ll be able to restore it to its former glory.

The Royal Guard Armor’s stats make it a great fit for any stage of the game — it can be upgraded at a work bench using the faction armor of the Order of the Seven or the Free Hunters, pushing its stats to the limit. Those who are more interested in pure profit will be able to exchange Lazar Stones for other valuable rewards as well.
